Parkour Maps

Available on ImagineFun are a series of themed Parkour maps that provide a challenge to those new or experienced in the sport!

If you aren't in the know, parkour involves jumping across tricky gaps, climbing ladders, and keeping your balance on a special course that can't be traversed otherwise!

To open the Parkour Map menu, use /parkour. From there, you can view a server-determined difficulty level for each course and how many checkpoints it has, as well as warp to them.

Each parkour map has a leaderboard, tracking the fastest times players have managed to complete it.

Parkour Tips

I'm no master at parkour in Minecraft, but here's a few tips that can help you out in the long run!

Patience.

Expect to fall, a lot. You're gonna fall, a lot, especially when you're practicing or doing a course for the first time. So, set aside a second to remind yourself that you're gonna fall and that it's okay to fall! It's okay to make mistakes, that's how life works. This is how you get better at things, no matter what you're trying to learn!

If you're getting frustrated, don't be afraid to step away and take a break, whether that means doing something else on the server, or logging off the server entirely. You can take a breather and come back to it at any time you're feeling up to the task again.

And don't compare yourself to other people who are "better at parkour than you". Chances are, they've been doing this for a while now or know the course very well. With enough perserverance, you will be able to reach their level of skill, I promise.

The most important thing, though, is that if you feel like parkour just isn't for you, that is a-okay. This is totally optional on the server, you don't have to do it if you really don't want to! It's okay to give it a try and stop, if it's making you miserable. What's important is to have fun on the server, and if you're not having fun, if it sucks... then just hit da bricks!

Sprint Button

By default, your button assigned to sprinting is Left Control or double-pressing W. I would suggest the former over the latter, as you can very easily miss pressing W twice and fall off a platform as a result! Left Control may be out of the way for some people to press, so if need be, try adjusting your controls to something that doesn't require you to stretch your hand over to press.

If you want, you can change your Minecraft control settings to make sprinting be on a toggle, rather than a button you need to hold down! You can do so by clicking on Controls in your settings, then clicking Sprint: Hold to change it to Sprint: Toggle.

Alternatively, depending on how large your hands are, you can nudge Left Control with the side of your hand to sprint. This is what I do, and it makes it super easy to do, instead of reaching my pinky finger down to press the button. With this method I'm even able to hold it down to continually sprint no matter what, and still be able to use my WASD keys to move around!

Take Your Time!

Minecraft parkouring requires some speed and momentum to make some jumps, but the wind-up on sprinting in this game is rather quick. As a result, you don't necessarily need to continually run and jump from one end of the course to the other. On most blocks, you have enough space to pause if need be and continue to sprint-jump down the way. It's still possible to do this on even the smaller ones, like fence posts or the tops of trapdoors, but it's a bit more tricky to do.

Underneath Peach's Castle in the Golden Castle Mall's Game Room is the decrepit old Cave Parkour. Be careful not to slip off stalagmites and hit your head on stalactites as you hop around to reach the end!

To get to the Cave Parkour, take a right at the Game Room entrance and hop across a gap and into a small cave; head downwards, deeper into the cave, and you'll arrive at the start for the Cave Parkour.

The Grizzly Parkour complex is a series of parkour maps that are connected to Grizzly Peak. There are three different parkour courses you can run here, all with differing skill levels in mind.

It is also home to Cali's Cocoa Cavern, run by Cali!

Grizzly Explorer 1 is probably the hardest parkour course on IF. I can't even get past the first jump. Good luck.

Mario Parkour

Call out your best "yahoo!" as you hop around the Mushroom Kingdom on this Super Mario-themed parkour course!

The Mario parkour course seems complicated on first try, with not much direction as to where your goal is. But the course expects you to climb around the perimeter of the room, across the castle and to the highest cloud in the beginning part of the course; you can see a gold block in it and the ending pressure plate from afar.

The entrance is a little hidden; at the Game Room entrance, take a right and hop across a gap and into a small cave; continue out to the left and you'll find the start for the Mario Parkour.

It might take a few tries to complete the course at first, but I would say this is one of the easiest, if not the easiest parkour courses to complete.

Dip and dive around your favorite scenes from the Star Wars movies in this themed parkour course!

This course is a little confusing at first, as the block layout isn't straight-forward. The order is as follows, for clarity:

Starting Room -> Lava "Mustafar" Scene -> Sand "Tatooine" Scene -> Space Scene -> Sand "Jakku" Scene -> Teal "Rey vs. Palpatine" Room

Unlike the Mario course, which is built around the layout and decoration of the Game Room, this one involves standard parkour block and obstacle layout. Ultimately, the course is not too hard, and is honestly a great way to practice parkour if you're just learning how to do it!
