Newbie's Guide to IF

New to the server? Overwhelmed with what to do first? Haven't even joined the server for the first time and have some questions? Look no further than our newbie guide!

Welcome to Imagine Fun!

Welcome to a world of fancy, a world of fantasy, a world of fun! Imagine Fun is dedicated to being the most accurate recreation of the Disneyland Resort in Minecraft. Explore the various areas of two world-class theme parks and ride your favorite rides, or perhaps discover a new favorite away from the real-life parks?

Available on the server is a custom audio client tailor-streamed to you based on your in-server location, on-ride photos*, fun, seasonal events, character meet and greets, various parkour maps, various items, collectibles, and cosmetics, a user marketplace, and more!

What Imagine Fun isn't.

Here on Imagine Fun, we have recreations of both Disney parks in California – Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. The following are not available on our server:

  • Any Walt Disney World parks or their attractions (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom)
  • Any Universal Studios parks or their attractions
  • Knott's Berry Farm

Please keep in mind that though they are aware of our server, we are not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company; we are not an official Disneyland Minecraft server, simply a fan-created project to replicate it in-game.

Also of note: we are not a roleplay server. Your Minecraft skin can be of a fictional character, of course, but please refrain from behaving like the character. Visiting the server in-character may result in a warning from staff, as we need to make the distinction between our visiting Characters and normal guests.

If you are worried about breaking server rules, you can always do /rules in-server.

What do I need in order to play?

In order to play on Imagine Fun, you will need Minecraft Java Edition and an official Minecraft / Microsoft account; the latter is required to play online. We do not allowed cracked clients; you must legally own a copy of Minecraft in order to play.

You can join our server by using the IP Address mc.imaginefun.net. You can save this to your Multiplayer server list, by clicking Add Server and adding in the info there. The name can be set to whatever you like!

If you are having any issues with joining the server, please refer to the Technical Questions section of our FAQ.

Server Reset Times

To help keep the server running in tip-top shape, the server will automatically reset itself around 12 AM PST every night – this is what is usually referred to as the "daily reset". Anything that resets upon the day turning over will be available once again after this reset.

Similarly, the server has a "weekly reset" time, though this is moreso an internal time for when various things are given their "weekly" reset, such as attraction leaderboards.

Useful Items

Starting Items

When you spawn into the server for the first time, you'll be given a handful of items: Mickey Ears, a Mickey Mouse Loungefly, two maps, and an IFone.

Your IFone is perhaps the most important of the bunch, as it acts as your gateway to getting around the server and the various features on the server. This includes a list of all rides, a list of story quests and daily quests, as well as additional helpful things, like your Photopass photos, the Magic Pass system, server and ride stats, server settings, and more.

As you play more on the server, you might use different commands to do things, rather than using your phone. But if you're overwhelmed by everything or don't know how to do things, take a look at your IFone!

Food, Food, Food!

The various snacks around the park aren't just for fun! Each time you buy a consumable item, you'll be given one of five random effects: "Fast fast fast", "Happy", "V i s i o n", "Combustion", and "Money".

Fast fast fast is probably the most useful of these effects, granting the player Speed I or II for about a minute and a half. Without the Speed command that DVC players get, it is the only way to increase your speed while getting around the server – helpful for racing friends or doing speedrun challenges like the Cannonball!

Money will give you a random amount of Kingdom Coins that explode out of you and must be physically collected; V i s i o n grants Night Vision, brightening the world around you. Happy and Combustion are particle effects around your player.

Buying More Items

/shop is good for new players because it has everything in one place. other items may be elsewhere sold by other shops though

Item Storage and Lockers

Are you running out of inventory space? You can get yourself additional storage space through a few methods:

Storage Items can not only be worn as accessories (in your off-hand), but have functional purpose in actually being able to store items. This includes various bags and backpacks, buckets and books, and more. While holding one, Right Click on open air; make sure you are not looking directly as a block, as the game will think you're trying to interact with that block with your item. You can store up to 27 items in each Storage item!

Most Storage items can be purchased from the Storage Shop on Main Street, U.S.A. for 600 Kingdom Coins each.

You can also collect various Loungefly backpacks, based on real-world Disney-themed Loungeflies. These only hold 3 items at a time and can be obtained through Goofy's Prize Box, an NPC shop if sold there, or from other players on the user marketplace. If you obtain a "legacy" Loungefly which does not feature the 3-item storage, talk to Uma Upgrades at the Storage Shop to have it upgraded.

Also available is Locker Space that can hold up to 54 items in each locker. This includes Storage items with items inside of them, for maximum organization and storage space. Lockers are not free, however.

Every guest starts with a free "Ender Chest" locker (/ec), which holds 27 items and is not connected to the Locker system.

The Lockers menu can be opened with /lockers, once you own a locker. Players are rewarded with free lockers depending on their server rank: Passholder gets 1, D23 gets 2, Club 33 gets 3, and DVC gets 4.
